“Emmanuel believed in this,” Naomi said softly, remembering the murdered whistleblower who started them on this path. “Jérôme sacrificed himself for it. The Specter tried to control it for his gain. We have a responsibility to honor the sacrifices made and ensure this power isn’t misused.”

Footsteps scraped against stone: The Specter was near. The final confrontation loomed. They knew he would try to seize the Heart, to force absolute truth under his tyrannical rule. If he got it, he could bend honesty to his will, exposing rivals while shielding his own sins, turning the planet’s pain into his ladder to climb back into power.

But now Isabelle, Naomi, and Amara understood the artifact’s nature. The Zarians had left it behind as a critical test. The Heart did not discriminate; it shone on all deeds equally. The one who held it would either guide humanity toward redemption or plunge it into endless strife.
